We’re documented, baby
Hey there. Kristiaan Asscheman from the wonderful dudes of Faceculture.tv made a documentary about all the musical activity in Utrecht-city. We did some interviews with him, together with the guys from GEM, most unpleasant men, Cosmic Carnival, Beep! Beep! Back up the truck en the singer from I am Oak. pretty nice one, 30 minutes, 16 seconds.

New show confirmed
it’s confirmed. We are very happy to play 3 july 2010 at Peacedog festival in Ede. Alongside no one less than MewithoutYou, who got back together to do their last show ever. Check out www.peacedog.nl for the complete line-up.
We will play all the new songs that we can finish before the showdate. We are working hard, HARD on those bastards. We hope you will enjoy them. Come and watch, come and listen, clap your hands, spill your beer. good times.

Nights on a boat 1

Riding all new sounds
Dear reader.
After our show in The Melkweg, we decided we were at the end of an era with the band. Three years ago we recorded our first album, without help or money and with it, we made it to where we are today. A lot of doors are opening wide, great stages are waiting and we have lots of chances to play, but we feel we can take it all to a higher level.
The show in the Melkweg contained hints of new stuff, new plans and new music. We are now taking all our time to write our second album. You will not see us for a while, but when we’re back… it will be better than ever.
We have one gig booked where you can hear a preview from some new material. We play on 7 March at FabrIQ festival in Den Bosch. We love you and we’ll see you soon. Once in a while we’ll post something of our progress on this site, be sure to check back once in a while.

Final results
Results for the GPNL are in… and the most surprising part is that we still have enough strength to type this. For be it known that we played one of our maddest sets before an audience of 1300 people tonight. Finals GPNL.
Of course we didn’t win, but we did it our way, all the way. And it was good. Sound could have been better and second place pays jack shit, but we went out there hard, it was blazing lights all around.

As we promised, there is video. The wonderful guys from faceculture filmed us for a bit before and during the finals. Here’s the result. Keep your eyes out for a short documentary about the Utrecht music scene coming soon…

review from LIVEXS
Nadat het podium van de liters zweet is ontdaan wordt wederom een bekende van LiveXS verwelkomd. Stairs To Nowhere is als live-act gegroeid en zet wellicht de meest spannende show van de avond neer. De combinatie van onorthodoxe songstructuren met de goed uitgekiende lichtshow vormt een event op zich en kan rekenen op grote waardering in de zaal. De band wisselt, mede door toedoen van twee drummers, bombastische escapades af met onheilspellend rustige passages.

(Oude) Hollandse Nieuwe
Wat krijg je als je men in roerige tijden een filmpje van je maakt, dat een half jaar later (nadat je veel veranderingen hebt door gemaakt en tot nieuwe inzichten bent gekomen) op het internet wordt geplaatst, in een tijd dat je wegens een bandwedstrijd onder wat meer aandacht dan normaal staat?
Juist, een filmpje over een band die in veel opzichten niet meer bestaat. Den kijker met een scherp oog (of iemand die een van de laatste paar shows heeft gezien) merkte op dat de samenwerking met Stijn niet langer deel uitmaakt van de band en dat wij na de vermeende breuk met Daniel als bassist inmiddels natuurlijk onze goede vriend weer terug op de vier snaren hebben? Exactly.
Maar hey, beter laat dan nooit. Hier dan toch nog een stukje bewegend beeld in kleur en met geluid, including livebeelden van het optreden (pre-Benjamin era) op de Neude, tijdens de Beep! Beep! Back Up The Truck labelnight.
Overigens geschoten door de roemruchte Ron van der Sterren, bekend van het inventieve Film It Yourself (FIY) Project.
